The Philips RQ1250 SensoTouch 3D is the cheapest model in the SensoTouch 3D range. Nevertheless, it is still stacked with features including a wet or dry shave option and specialised three track rotary blades and SkinGlide formula for extra comfort. Now we take a look at all of these features to get an overall opinion of the shaver:

The Philips RQ1250 has Good Looks and More Information

For the last couple of years it has been hard to find an electric razor from Philips which is not of attractive design. The Philips RQ1250 SensoTouch 3D is yet another such refined looking product, this time finished in ruby black with nonslip rubber sections. The GyroFlex 3D feature is possible because of the narrow neck which gives the shave head a full range of movement for pivoting and flexing. The charge standard matches the shaver well and together they make a great package.

The Philips RQ1250 SensoTouch 3D provides more information than the 2D version through a series of LED indicators. The LED display has three indicators giving levels of battery power remaining, and also lights for charging, travel lock and when the shave heads need replacing.

One major addition to the features of the Philips RQ1250 SensoTouch 3D is a pop-up trimmer. Whilst this is a common feature of virtually all other electric shavers, the precursor to this model (Philips RQ1180 2D) only came with a separate trimmer which slotted onto the main body in place of the shave head. The trimmer is now embedded in the shaver handle for a more convenient and precise way of grooming your sideburns and facial hair.

Good Blade Technology

The three rotary blades of the Philips RQ1250 SensoTouch 3D each have three specialised tracks; the first track has slots for normal hair, the second channel is for longer or flat lying hair, and lastly, the third track has a pattern of holes which takes care of the shortest stubble. This is a technology which has been used to good effect with other Philips shavers, and is a worthy addition to the Philips RQ1250 SensoTouch 3D. These rotary blades are also finished in SkinGlide which is a shaving surface designed to slide more smoothly across your face and therefore cause less irritation.

If you are a fan of wet shaving, the Aquatec seal gives you the option of wet or dry shaving with be Philips RQ1250 SensoTouch 3D. Although not completely waterproof, this seal makes it possible for you to use a gel or shaving foam while shaving for added comfort if this is your preference. Your shaver can then be washed clean by giving it a simple rinse, to remove any excess gel and stubble particles.

The GyroFlex 3D system mentioned above enables the shave head to pivot to many different angles in order to maintain good contact with your face. As well is this, the three rotary blades can flex in and out and even separate slightly, again to follow the contours of your face when shaving. These features work very well and increase both closeness of shave and overall comfort. Shaving in a circular motion is recommended by Philips.

While other manufacturers only develop foil shavers and others dabble in both technologies, Philips only manufacture rotary shavers, and this focus seems to have paid off with the Philips RQ1250 SensoTouch 3D.
