Full Review of the Braun Series-3 390cc
The Braun Series-3 390cc is the top of the range model in the 3 Series and therefore, as you would expect, is the most expensive. However, the Braun Series-3 390cc also has more features than the others in the range, and is the only one which comes with the Braun Clean and Renew System for automatically cleaning, lubricating and charging your shaver at the touch of a button. As with all Series 3 shavers, the Braun Series-3 390cc has been designed to tackle longer hairs as well as normal stubble.
The Braun Series-3 390cc has Good Looks and Convenience
In looks, the Braun Series-3 390cc seems to be identical to the 370S, being a black and silver design with extra touches of chrome to add a little bit of sparkle if not class. The battery power display is a series of LEDs below the central on-off button. The cleaning and charging dock for the Braun Series-3 390cc is a simple black design with two blue indicators to show you how cleaning and charging is progressing.
As with all Series 3 models, the Braun Series-3 390cc fits nicely in the palm of the hand, is nice and light, and not too noisy to use. The 390cc uses the 3 Stage Cutting System, standard across the range of shavers in this series. This cutting system works by first cutting shorter hair with a foil, then by trimming longer hairs, and finally by cleaning off anything left with a second foil. This is a tried and tested cutting system, and works very nicely, even when you’ve gone two or three days without a shave.
Good Shaving Mechanism
All three elements in this cutting system use the Triple Action FreeFloat System which allows them to move up and down independently to follow the shape of your face. The combination of this floating design and 3 stage cut works nicely, and they seem to complement each other well. Braun recommends changing the foils on the Braun Series-3 390cc every 18 months.
The Braun Series-3 390cc has the standard 90 degree sideburn and goatee trimmer on the reverse and precision lock to set the foils at a preferred height. The main defining feature of the Braun Series-3 390cc however, is the cleaning dock it comes with. Placing the shaver into the dock upside down, the dock proceeds to wash the foils, lubricate the whole shaving mechanism, and charge the shaver for future use. Of course this is very convenient, and is certainly a welcome extra.
The Braun Series-3 390cc is the Flagship of the Series
The Braun Series-3 390cc shaving action and general design have been tried and tested and proven to be effective in shaving either every day, or after a weekend of letting yourself go. This shave is comfortable, and works those longer hairs well. Adding this to the cleaning dock, the Braun Series-3 390cc is a very nice package altogether, and actually pretty good value for money. Certainly the best of the 3 series, but then it is supposed to be.

Full Review of the Braun Serie…

If you ask me this razor is great. I purchased it because I needed a new one a year ago and its still shaving perfectly every morning. It’s not very heavy and it also gives a pretty good shaving experience. you can’t go wrong with a Braun.
The 390cc-3 was £90 cheaper than my old Braun 790cc, however it is almost identical. The heads are exactly identical and both have 3-stage cutting& FreeFloat systems. They both also use Braun’s Clean and Renew system. The Braun 390cc-3 works just as well even though it lacks the Series 7′s Sonic Technology.
Both the 390cc-3 & 790cc give you a comfortable and close shave. Even though I only shave twice a week the Braun Series 3 provides an excellent shave. I never get a rash with this razor. This proves that the 3-Stage Cutting System for combating different lengths of stubble really works . To top it off it looks really cool and it is easy to handle even when it it wet. The batter life of the series 3 is 45 minutes.
If you have not used Braun’s Clean and Renew system you should give it a try. It consists of a pot in which you place the shaver head down. The battery recharges and the head is cleaned with an alcohol based solution. You may not really buy into the Braun Clean and Renew system and neither did I at first. However it works like a charm and really keeps the stubble out of your razor. With the Braun Series 3 it feels like you are using a new shaver each time.
The Braun 390cc-3 is a little expensive, but really packs a lot for the money. I don’t think there is a better electric razor available for the price.
